Overview:

The root of astragalus is a common ingredient in classical herbalism. It is included in preparations that aim to support healthy skin, respiration, digestion, normal elimination of excretory products, and resistance to allergens and infectious agents. Additionally, astragalus is used as a tonic material to enhance endurance and stamina, increase physical strength, support structural strength of tendons and bones, and hasten recovery from overexertion or injury.

Astragalus root extracts contain saponins, known as astragalosides. These components may possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Polysaccharides present in the root may support immune function.
